Anger and Neurofeedback
The body responds negatively when anger is not expressed constructively. Uncontrolled anger can lead to emotional, mental, and physical stress. It increases heart rate, blood pressure, and muscle tension, which can result in headaches, digestive issues, and long-term cardiovascular problems. Chronic anger may also weaken the immune system, cause sleep disturbances, and contribute to anxiety and depression. Neurofeedback therapy helps individuals learn how to manage their anger more effectively, reducing anger outbursts in both adults and children.
Neurofeedback helps strengthen the connection between the emotional center and the executive control centers in the brain. By stabilizing and calming areas of the brain responsible for emotional regulation, neurofeedback improves a person’s ability to manage their emotions. As a result, individuals experience a decrease in anger, impulsivity, emotional reactivity, muscle tension, and negative thinking. Managing anger constructively can also reduce the physical impact of anger on the body, promoting overall well-being. Unlike medication, neurofeedback carries few side effects, with the most common being a temporary feeling of tiredness after a session.
